Maine Central, 501
32” x 32”, Oil on canvas, 2012
I know I just posted the rougher phone image of this the other day, but now I have this lovely finalized picture of it both here and up on my website, along with a much better image of my etching Birthday.
Also I did a little more work on this today and I think I’m going to call it done. For now at least. (I’m pretty indecisive when it comes to that). But I do know I’m putting it down for who knows how long, because I might be leaving it behind in my move to Kansas City (which is Saturday) for another show at Mason Murer in Atlanta. Which would mean I won’t see it for a long time. Anyways. Just wanted to post it’s (current) finished state.

I found one of my old etchings that I honestly forgot I had. It was hanging on my wall the day I got all of the work for my website photographed, so I forgot to bring it and that’s why its not on there. This is just a rough phone picture I took only minutes ago, but it’ll do for now for this purpose.
But what I like about this is it’s a CMYK etching, so it’s got four plates printed on top of each other (one of cyan, one magenta, one yellow, and one black), and the idea was that when printed one after another, not necessarily in that order though, the colors would mix on the paper and bring out more colors than the original four. But that’s why, although its hard to tell, you get the overall purple of the picture, as well as some green and orange.
It’s about 18” x 7”, give or take, and from either late 2010 or early 2011.
And it’s called Birthday, because I took this picture on my 21st birthday inside of Hangfire in Savannah, Georgia.
Also side note:
This older painting of mine from May of 2011 is currently up and on display at Mason Murer Fine Art in Atlanta
